Farmers Insurance Open Leaderboard 3rd Round

Farmers Insurance Open Leaderboard 3rd Round : Phil "Lefty" Mickelson share the lead with Bill Haas atop the Farmers Insurance Open leaderboard, going into the final round.Mickelson finished Saturday's round with a 4-under 68 to share the lead with Haas. Haas, meanwhile, missed a 4-foot par putt on the 18th hole for a 71, or he would have been leading Mickelson by a stroke. The pair are tied with a -12 total.

One stroke behind at -11 are Hunter Mahan and Bubba Watson. Another stroke behind, at -10, is Anthony Kim.

Mickelson, who is famous for taking chances, played it safe at Torrey Pines on Saturday. He explained it as follows: "I'm not taking on the risk. I'm just playing it much more conservative because the reward isn't there. This course doesn't reward you for taking on any challenge. And my more conservative approach into the greens, albeit boring, has led me to be on top of the leaderboard."

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods, who has not lost a tournament at Torrey Pines since 2004, shot himself out contention. Starting the third round only five shots behind on the Farmers Insurance Open leaderboard, Woods had a 2-over par 74, which ended his streak of 21 rounds at par or better on the South Course in PGA Tour events. At the end of the day, he was eight shots behind the leaders.

Woods said the following: "I did not play well at all today. It was a struggle all day, and I finally found something at (hole) 16, but 15 holes already had gone by. So that was pretty frustrating."
